AB The text is concerned with the standing of reminiscences in the life and support of persons of senior age. Special emphasis is laid on seniors dependent on care, in particular for health reasons (viz dementia of Alzheimer type). At the same time the significance of involutional and disease-caused loss of memory are differentiated. Attention is also devoted to the possibilities of targeted application of reminiscences in institutional care ensured by special educators, directed at prevention and therapy (reminiscence therapy).
