The chapter presents information on learning strategies in pupils at primary and secondary schools. It specifies some of the approaches to reading acquisition in pupils with dyslexia. This issue is perceived from the cognitive and metacognitive strategies acquisition perspective. We also focus on the definition of basic skills such as process of reading comprehension, phonological information processing, and a flair for language acquisition. The chapter contains analysis of some foreign approaches and programs in the acquisition of basic strategies during learning process as well as specific examples of good practice.
